I personally do not recommend going to gyms. The cost of paying $30- $40 per month can be better use elsewhere such buying a treadmill or your own machine. Most people go and are forced into a one year commitment. These gym memberships force you into a one year commitment because they know most people stop going after a month.

YMCA

Non-profit facility that offers more equipment and incentives than any profit gyms. The staff are volunteers. So you won't get the salesperson telling to buy and never cancel.

Good Life

A profit based fitness centre. Although I still recommend YMCA, I have not heard anything bad from Good Life.

If you can get a lower monthly membership price and not have to commit, then Good Life may be the better choice.

Premiere Fitness

Terrible.

Massive sales tactic to try and get you in one year gym membership and when you try to cancel, they will make it difficult.

If you were to call them up and ask for their prices, they will tell you it is their policy no to tell you over the phone. They will want you to come down and they will provide a personalized sales gimmick wasting your time before willing to tell you their prices which is highly negotiable.

They will ask for your credit card and ask for a one year commitment. I suggest to not give it to them. A credit card is very dangerous and not possible to cancel. You will keep getting charge until they cancel at their discretion.
