Category: How To Dentist

The truth is, 90% of the time, you will be spending with your hygienist. Your hygienist is the one that cleans your teeth and keeps it healthy. So the best way to evaluate whether your teeth is in good hands, is to really evaluate the hygienist.

1. Your hygienist needs to be physical healthy and attentive. Cleaning teeth requires strong hands and attention to detail. Generally, the best hygienist are the younger ones with a few years experience. Their eyes are sharper and they are more focus on getting all the dirt out.

2. Your hygienist should floss every tooth including the back ones and ones gaps that are too closed. Some hygienist get lazy and won't floss every tooth because it is too far back or because the gap is not wide enough for the floss to squeeze into. If that is the case, you need to switch hygienist. They need to set examples and every tooth needs to be floss on both sides and they need to figure out ways to get it done.

3. Your hygienist needs to be informative. Communication is very important and if they can't tell you what they are doing, then they won't be able to tell you what youare doing wrong and how you can do better.
